Petronas is title sponsor of Mercedes F1

After BMW pulled out from F1, Tony's Lotus F1 team thought they might able to deal with Petronas for sponsor, which also gain the support from the government and through Proton indirectly. But it seems like Petronas make a smart move by sponsoring the well knowned manufacturer of Merz.

Maybe AirAsia will move it sponsorship from William F1 to Lotus F1 then? Who else can dump so much of money into a new team?

“The new title partnership also paves the way for future collaborations between the two companies,” Mercedes added in a statement.

It said Petronas would be able to “generate sustainable business growth, particularly in their downstream lubricants market, through the strategic partnership and business alliance with Mercedes-Benz.”
