1 year in new company

Time flies, i have work in the current company for 1 year and 3 days now. Though it is very busy compared to previous company, yet my exposure to this CDM industry has increased very much. From previously only handled biogas project from palm oil industry in Malaysia, i am now involves in biogas project from palm oil industry, starch industry, composting project , solids separation cum composting project, biomass to heat project....... and soon project in animal waste to biogas.

Life in CDM always try to meet the dateline and the expiry date of the methodology, never ending of new methodologies and revised version, new guidelines and tools from EB that alway makes this industry becoming tougher and tougher yet the CERs that expected to get is becoming lesser & lesser. Will this industry come to the end after 2012? Nobody knows.

And finally my burden reduced end of this month with more project almost completed for 1st stage of validation. Really need to pray hard it will eventually registered in UNFCCC without request for review, really need to pai ang kong.

Last few day just welcome my colleague from Guatemala, a young lady, speak spanish and english. Have the chance to learn spanish now. Not going to update anything here untill next month. She was here for some exposure, i wonder why i don't have the chance to be exposed too in the foreign land? It must be very great right?

Anyway, i am committed to stay in Malaysia especially KL for next month and July. Wife is expecting to deliver anytime......Don't play-play ler......

Just came back to hotel (Pearl View) hour ago from Penang Island after having my "supper" at East Jelutong with my friend, SY & EH. We took "leng Lui liong sui" & Penang Lok Bak, then again i took Asam Laksa (RM2) & Fried Koay Teow (RM2.50 with three medium size prawn). Of course the leng lui is now leng auntie, after more than 17 years of calling them since form 2.

Off To S. Prai & Kulim

I will be away to Seberang Prai & Kulim for another Stakeholder consultation. Will be back to KL on Tuesday evening. Mean while, call me if you want to "drink tea". I will stay at Pearl Views Hotel, near Chai Leng Park.

Busy

Recently, i was busy like hell and i will still busy like hell for another few weeks. Or in another words, they will keep me busy like hell until my last working day in this company.

I am tired, very tired. I need to rest!

Back to Work

Finally i am back to work using crutches after 27 days of MC. I am still not able to bend my knee to the max yet and my quad muscle is still weak!

5 more months before i can cycling, 11 more months before i can fully active in outdoor activities.

Tomorrow i will be off to Miri and shall be back to KL at night. See you on Friday afternoon after some leave, holoday and "MC" on Friday morning.

Some photos to share. Having my dinner somewhere behind the hotel i stayed - Asia Hotel, a new operated hotel officially opened in August this year. The restaurant called Restaurant Pantai, they have a special teh called Teh Pantai. The Asia Hotel equiped with WiFi and for twin beds room, only RM 108 nett.

It is a small town. A super small Airport only Fokker can be landed. If you are giving a choice now, i do not want to fly in Fokker anymore, so painful! Small is one issue as i am tall. Engine noise is killing me for the 55 minutes journey from Kota Kinabalu to Lahad Datu. Maybe i still prefer to travel by car, where i can always enjoy the scenery.

Oh ya, i am going to Lumut on 21st Nov 2007 and one more time to Gua Musang early next month. And other trips to Johor and Sabah, sorry la, i am bored now to travel to Johor and fly to East Malaysia, i will ask my engineer to go alone la. Time to grow up!

Flying whole day, tired like heck. From 5.40am get out from my house till reached LCCT to take the flight at 7.50am, touched down at KK international airport at 10.30am, transit via Maswings at 1.30pm flight and finally reached Lahad Datu at 2.20pm.

What can i say about the trip to Gua Musang, Kelantan?

WONDERFUL !!!!!!

A peacuful & small town. I believe you can live 10 years longer in Kelantan compared to KL. Just one problem for me, i can't understand their Bahasa Malaysia, masalah sikit ni. I will come back to Kelantan for another trip soon, to work and to get back my Hush Puppy shirt that i left in Fully Inn (Hotel).

Actually, Kelantan is not that scary of what we always heard from & read from newspaper, News, etc. I believe it is all the propaganda being carried out by certain party who try to create a fear factor for non-bumi. I saw the non-bumi live there happily, work there happily, everyone is living in harmony. I fell 10x safer walking in Gua Musang compared to KL/JB. Maybe i should walk also in Kota Bharu in order to give further comment.

We started our journey from KL office, using KL - Karak highway, exit at Bentong, going toward Raub, then Kuala Lipis and past through Merapoh, crossed Pahang - Kelantan border and reach Gua Musang. Total time requried is 5 hours including lunch break.

Rest for a while and had a walk around the town and discovered that there are quite a lot of chinese and indian living in Gua Musang. Yes, Shin (i think is Shiok Shin) is right, it is a very small town.

Then we drove further 70km toward Kuala Krai to the palm oil mill to have a look before the presentation for next day morning. From here, it is ust another 120km ++ to Kota Bharu.

After we finished our work, we used new road that link Gua Musang and Cameron Highland. Nice scenery, cool weather. On the way, we saw a lot of camp sites for logging, whether illegal or legal, i have no idea. However, when approaching Cameron Highland, we noticed a lot of forest has been cleared for planting Flowers. No proper planning!

From Cameron Highland, we used Cameron Highlang - Simpang Pulai road instead of Cameron - Tapah road. I bought some corn that damn expensive - RM10 for 4, called Jagung Susu, damn sweet. Bought some "dong chong chow" as well, carrot, vege and tomato.

If not my "broken" knee, i will organize a cycling trip. There are many options you can choose from.

1. KL - Gombak - Bentong - Raub - Kuala Lipis - Gua Musang (~ 300 km) (using bus to go back KL)
2. KL - Gombak - Bentong - Raub - Fraser Hill - KL
3. KL - Gombak - Bentong - Raub - Kuala Lipis - Gua Musang - Jeli - Grik - PG
4. KL - Gombak - Bentong - Raub - Kuala Lipis - Gua Musang - Kota Bharu - Jeli - Grik - PG
5. KL - Gombak - Bentong - Raub - Kuala Lipis - Gua Musang - Cameron Highlang - Tapah - KL
6. KL - Gombak - Bentong - Raub - Kuala Lipis - Gua Musang - Cameron Highland - Sipang Pulai - Ipoh

So many route you can plan with, nice scenry, unpolluted area, not many car at most of the road...... Wait till my knee operation and fully recover next year.

Desaru Golden Beach Resort

Some photo to share during my previous trip to Desaru. And i found out that the resort we stayed (Desaru Golden Beach Resort) is the resort that organize Desaru Thriathlon which we (Me, Boon Keat, and a friend of TBK) participated in year 2002 representing UPM. Two (2) teams were represented UPM, we were one of the team, 2nd last, while the other UPM team was Champion. As i only cycling in the team, therefore i "completed" the Triathlon by swimming 50m in the sea, and running for 1 hour on the beach.

Need to fly there tonight and shall be back to KL on Friday 11.50pm. I will help all Muslims friend to observe is there any moon appear in the sky since i will fly above the cloud.

By the time check out from LCCT, then i will celebrate Hari Raya at airport.

Mean while, you will not get me as i will stay DEEP in the jungle where there is nothing but "raining" type of RTM1 & RTM2, Celcom signal with 1 - 2 bars at certain area where i will stay. Then you should understand, why Sarawak always under BN. I will try to watch our 1st Malaysian who fly to space in Miri even though his status still not clear, Space Flight Participant or Cosmonaut.

Tired Like Heck

Just came back from Malacca yesterday afternnon attending wedding dinner of a friend of mine, Vivian Lee.

Damn tired as i was just came back from Johor on Thursday driving whole day from 7am till 10.20pm. Only 4 hours off the road, more than 11 hours driving. Rest on Friday, but drove again on Saturday rushing up & down.

Just came back from Putrajaya this morning for another presentation at NRE, no big issues this time as one of the NGO left the meeting earlier, but still have some questions being asked.

Supposed i need to travel againt o Paloh, Johor this Thursday and come back on Friday afternoon for another presentation, luckily i took leave for another wedding function, also kaw-kaw one. Then another wedding dinner on this Saturday.

Never ever has the time to rest, same goes to my wallet.

Time to sleep well tonight, but CAN I?

A Day To Remember

Today is 911, the painful day for most of the American.

Today, 911, also is the day that i joined this company exactly 1 year ago.

Finally i did my presentation to 42 person coming from all level, from Datuk, Directors of companies, representative from Government departments (JAS, MPOB), General Manager, Mill Managers, plantations managers, ketua-ketua Penghulu from different kampung, penduduk-penduduk kampung, staffs from plantation as well from the mill - in Bahasa Malaysia.

Another presentation next week, this time is in English, to NGOs, Ministry of Natural Resources & Environment, MPOB, and many more government departments' officials.

Will get tonnes of Question from them. But mostly and up 95% are from NGOs, i found out that government officials very shy to ask questions in open discussion, forum, etc. Maybe i was wrong.
