Pai Tian Kong of Rat Year

Tonight after 11pm, Hokkien in Malaysia especially Penang will celebrate Pai Tian Kong (拜天公).

Sugar cane is a must in this ritual! Why? Believe that hokkien people were hiding in the sugar cane plantation on the 9th day of CNY from enemy i guess, and they all were safe! Therefore, on the 9th day of CNY, Hokkien will celebrate this event with sugar cane...... of course with other foods ......

Happy Birthday To Everyone

Today is day 7th of 1st Lunar month, it is the day for 人日, meaning the birthday for everyone.

Today also the day our Malaysia Parliament being dissolved. Today, we will create another history, to deny 2/3 majority of BN!

With the birthday wish by everyone who wish to change, i hope this will materialise.

Today Spring Begin

Today is Li Chun (立春), officially those who born after 19:03PM is under Earth Rat. This Rat Year also does not has any 立春 as nother 立春 is fall on Bull Year, it is also known as 寡婦年 (widow year) in northern China or 盲年 (blind year) in southern China.

Happy Mooncake Festival 中秋节

Today is 15th of Eighth Lunar month in Chinese calender a.k.a. 中秋节. As usual, i am not going to celebrate it with my parent & relatives in Penang, since very long time ago ...... I should make a phone call to home today!

Month of Hungry Ghosts

For those who are not familiar with Chinese calender, since yesterday (Monday) is the Hungry Ghost Month (七月初一). A day started with 20 people dead in a 20 years old "Super" Express bus near Taiping. Someone must answer this!!!

The driver had 13 traffic summonses - some still outstanding - and two warrants of arrest against him while the 20-year-old bus, which also had 19 summonses, did not even have the permit to ply the route.

Time to pray. My condolences to the families.

Today 19th day of 6th lunar month (农历六月十九) is Guan Yin Dan, eat vegetarian today.

Go Vege, Less Meat.

Wesak Day

Happy Wesak Day for all Buddhist who stay in Malaysia (1st May 07) while for those who stay in Singapore, i will wish you all later (31st May 07).

Anyway, you can celebrate both days but only with one day holiday.

Guan Yin Dan

Today 19th day of 2nd lunar month (农历二月十九) is Guan Yin Dan, eat vegetarian today.

16th Day

It is over, another new year celebration of Fire Boar. So fast time fly...... and we had our Steamboat on Chap Goh Meh yesterday with Boon Keat, Kam Meng & Blue Amoeba while KJ "give aeroplane". During this Chap Goh Meh also happened full lunar eclipse.

After spending a lot during this celebration and enjoy the so-called holiday mood, it is time back to work seriously for this Fire Boar year that feng-shui master said good for Dragon ...... While luck is luck, you still need to work hard, nothing will fall from the sky, nothing is free in this world, no one will kesian sama hang. So, work hard, work smart.

Happy Chinese New Year 2007

Wishing everyone a Happy Chinese New Year. For those who drive, becareful on the road. For those who still receiving ang pow, please la, shang seng ti. People always say, give is better than receive, so stop this "act", ok? Just a joke la... don't take it serious.

Me, my wife PL and HH will be in Penang from Saturday till Wednesday morning. Then back to KL to visit my wife side.

Happy Deepavali

Happy Deepavali / Diwali to all my Indian and Sikh friends.

Deepavali is also known as Diwali, or the Festival of Lights. Light is significant in Hinduism cause it signifies goodness. So, during the Festival of Lights, 'deeps', or oil lamps, are burned hroughout the day and into the night to ward off darkness and evil. Diwali is celebrated on the last day of the last month of lunar calendar.

Happy Bak Chang Day 端午节快乐

The origins of rice dumplings are traced to the legend of Qu Yuan, a well-loved poet who drowned himself in a river. To stop the fish from eating his body, people made rice dumplings and threw them into the river. Another version of the legend states that the dumplings were made to placate a dragon that lived in the river.

Rice dumplings are made for the Dragon Boat Festival, which falls on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese calendar.
