TECHNICAL PROBLEM ON TRAIN CAUSES DISRUPTION ON KELANA JAYA LINE
Petaling Jaya, 06 th October 2006 1500 hrs – RAPID KL today announces that its service was interrupted at 0702 hrs during morning rush hour, when one of its trains experienced technical problems.
Passengers were quickly evacuated at Damai Station and alternate service was quickly operational between Masjid Jamek and Terminal Putra stations. Between Kelana Jaya and Masjid Jamek stations service is normal.
Rapid KL is rushing to restore all services back to normal before rush hour starts at 1630 hrs.
Nevertheless, RAPID KL is providing alternative modes of travel for its commuters traveling from Kuala Lumpur to Terminal Putra. For commuters with destination to Wangsa Maju, RAPID KL advises to take Ampang/Sri Petaling Line to Titiwangsa Station and from there to take RAPID KL Bus T20 towards Wangsa Maju. Local feeder buses are available to take commuters to other destinations .
RAPID KL Staff will be available at Masjid Jamek and Titiwangsa Stations to provide detailed information.
RAPID KL is also providing dedicated bus shuttle service from KLCC to Jelatek and Setiawangsa Stations. This service will be free-of-charge for Rail MTC (Monthly Travel Card) and UDP ( Ultimate Day Pass ) holders. For those without MTC or UDP, RM1 fare will be chargeable. These special buses will be clearly marked for these destinations.Normal service should be available in the morning.
